'An Independent Baptist Church' THIS WE BELIEVE ABOUT HELLWe believe that HELL is a real place of punishment, prison, and torment and fire where those who reject Christ a Saviour will go when they die. (Matt. 25:46) (Rev. 20:10-14) It was created for the devil and his angels...it was not originally created for man to inhabit. (Matt 25:41) If man goes to hell, it is because he has rejected Jesus' offer of salvation. Someone says, "How could God send someone to hell?" "What kind of a loving God could do that?" The answer is: God does NOT send us to hell...we send OURSELVES when we reject the way to heaven he has provided for us! We state again, hell was prepared for the devil and his angels, not for man! Nonetheless, man will go there for eternity if he rejects Christ's plan of salvation. As stated before, hell is a REAL actual place The present hell is in the center of this earth, (Matthew 12:40, Eph. 4:9) The final hell will be moved out to the Lake of Fire and we're not told where that is...in the universe or beyond. (Rev. 20:15) Hell is a real place of consciousness and feeling, and torment and pain in real flames for eternity (Luke 16:23 - 26) with no hope of escape. Hell is not annihilation as some cults teach. There is no mention of some "halfway Hell" known as "purgatory". This is a man made idea that is not taught any where in the Bible. Hell will be a place where all sorts of UNSAVED people will spend eternity...murders, drug addicts, sex - offenders, rapists,occultists (Rev. 21:8) Note these people are not in hell because of these sins...they are in hell because they rejected Christ as Saviour, and Rev. 22:11 teaches that unsaved people in hell will have their lusts and sinful cravings for all eternity..never to be satisfied! There will be different degrees of punishment in hell and people will be judged according to their works while on earth. (Rev. 20:12 Eph 6:8) Hell will be much worse for wicked evil person than it will be for a good moral person who just never accepted Christ as Saviour. But it will still be hell, a place of horrible torment, flame and separation from God. |
